George Hoyningen-Huene was one of the most iconic and pioneering photographers of the 20th century. In the 1930s, he captured the style of Paris' Haute Couture fashion houses as Chief Photographer for Vogue and Harper's Bazar, and later moved to Los Angeles and work in Hollywood. The wonderful couple Åsa and Tommy Rönngren acquired the George Hoyningen-Huene Estate in 2020 and are working to restore Hoyningen-Huene as one of the greats of 20th century photography.
In collaboration with the design studio BankerWessel, I have produced a website that will to offer access to Hoyningen-Huene’s life and work – from the world of Paris fashion, his iconic photographs of Hollywood film stars to the detailed photographic records he kept during his extensive travels.
